Grew up on a farm in Michigan and first put on ice skates at the age of 3 and have been skating ever since. My dad, brothers and sister all skated with tremendous enthusiasm. Started by playing ice-hockey at the age of 4 on a creek near my parent’s farm. Had the fortune of coaching both my sons, the oldest Phillip is 29, an engineer, he played AA hockey and finished his career playing at Stanford. My youngest is 16 and I am currently coaching his team.
I enjoy teaching power skating and other hockey skills and enjoy hockey coaching immensely, have worked with a U.S. Figure Skating Ice Dance Gold Medalist skater on developing better power skating training methods. After decades of coaching I decided to start my own company, Northwest Skate and Hockey Skills. I am living the hockey dream and want to share with you what I have learned.
